Travel Announcement: The Sweet South

Hey y'all! Today is the start of a new series I'll be doing on my blog and am hoping to continue for quite a while. Say hello to my first Travel Announcement! Traveling is my greatest passion by far and nothing gets me more excited than preparing for a good vacation. As a matter of fact, traveling to new places has been a big part of me since I was very young. That's why I'd like to start sharing my travels with you. Not only will you get to see where I go and what I do, I will now have a reason to document all of my adventures to look back on in the future. Win win, am I right? In each announcement I'll tell you where I am going, when I am going, how long I am going, what I'll be doing, you know, the basics. I'll also put together a moodboard of pics from the internet, links and other useful things so both you and I can get a taste of what's going on. Let's get to it, I can't contain myself anymore.

My first trip this summer will be to...

Ah yes, the good ole palmetto state (and my favorite of all the states). I've been going to SC for as long as I can remember and it has a very special place in my heart. I go to visit my grandparents and stay at their beautiful house at least three times a year and it's something I always look forward to. Typically, my visit in the summertime consists of a weeklong camp hosted by the club my grandparents belong to. Nearly all of my greatest summer memories were made at this camp but this year will be a little different. I won't be partaking in the camp (growing up has it's disadvantages). However, my little brothers are, meaning I will have the whole week of days to myself (and two nights). In all honesty, I couldn't be happier. I'll have a full week to relax and do fun things that I haven't yet gotten to try: visit downtown Greenville, take a day-trip to Atlanta and do all of my favorite classic summer things: visit my favorite cafe, spend a day at the beach club on Lake Keowee, go paddleboarding and spend some chill time by the pool. Doing all of these things with just my mom and my grandparents will be an exciting change- I'm so ready for the only child life next week.

As you can probably tell, I'm pretty excited. So, when does this amazing week start? I'm happy to say I'll be leaving for the eight hour drive in the early morning of this coming sunday (the 26th of June) and staying until the next Sunday (the 3rd of July). Because I've been here before, I'll leave you with some of my favorite things about my summer visits to South Carolina.

In no specific order...
1. Southern hospitality (of course)
2. The VERY hot weather (my favorite kind of weather)
3. Afternoon thunderstorms (and sitting on the terrace to watch them)
4. The gorgeous views from the mountain (especially at night when the cities below are all lit up)
5. Running around on the golf course after hours (and taking pics)
6. Paddleboarding and kayaking at the lake
7. The greenery you can find everywhere
8. Spending time with my grandparents
9. Seeing old friends from camp
10. Laying out in the sun
11. Swimming at the pool and the lake (basically, any place with water)
12. The southern accents
13. Peaches!
14. The drive down (driving through hours of mountains while listening to music is the best)
15. All the sweet people
