Wrapping it Up

Wow, I can't believe the day has come. Tomorrow, the school year will come to a close and just like that, everything will slow down a bit. Honestly, I couldn't be more grateful. This year has been a crazy whirlwind of highs and lows and I am so ready for summer break to begin.

Right now, I'm just feeling so accomplished looking back on this past school year, mainly because of how different I am now than I was. At the beginning of the year, I was always nervous and stressed- not very comfortable with where I was or who I was with, you know, typical freshman problems. But let me tell you, boy, did that change. The stress hasn't gone down at all (hence my eagerness to just make it to summer break) but I love where I am and especially, who I am with. I am happy. I am comfortable.

On the other hand, many times throughout the year were not comfortable. For instance, staying up until 12:30 every night (probably my own fault), barely getting to sleep in anymore, the harsh winter that just really got me down. There were some hard weeks this year, as a matter of fact, this whole past quarter at school has been hard. Thankfully, everything must come to an end and tomorrow my freshman year will, leaving me with only valuable lessons and some great memories I can definitely learn from (or look back and laugh at).

Not only has the school side of me truly evolved, but the personal side of me as well. Starting at the beginning of the year, my blog was called The Seasonal Prep (a title I had had for a while because that is how I defined myself). Obviously, that title no longer remains. After I realized that I didn't have to limit myself to one style my whole life, everything changed. My eyes opened up to so much more and I really began to let my true self shine. I think that was the biggest change for me- learning that I am not obligated to be one type of person and do one type of thing. Coming to the realization that I could open myself up to so much more really changed my life and the way I see things.

Overall, this year has been one for the books. Looking back, I am so thankful for everything that has happened and I am so glad for every opportunity I have gotten. I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. Not only have I discovered more about who I am, I have embraced it.

On that note, let the good times begin! Summer is finally here and I will have three months to relax, enjoy life and do what I want- a reward that sounds pretty good to me.
